PSYCHOANALYSIS

Psychoanalysis in Houston and Across Texas

Therapy can be a way to cope with being human. If you're stuck in a story that you feel like you didn't choose, we can help.

What We Mean by “Psychoanalysis”

Psychoanalysis is not symptom management or a list of tools. It is a place where everything you say—dreams, slips, memories, silences—has value. The work is to trace connections between past and present, desire and fear, love and loss. It is about speaking more freely, and finding what that opens.

How We Usually Work

  • Weekly or biweekly 30–50 minute sessions.

  • Online anywhere in Texas and in person in Houston

  • We stay with what is hard to feel without forcing shortcuts.

  • We look for patterns in how you relate, avoid, hope, and choose.

  • If medication is part of your care, we coordinate with your prescriber.

  • Insurance accepted (BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, UHC, Oscar).

  • Sessions available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese

  • Discovering meaning in what once felt random

  • Less repetition of painful patterns

  • Living with less pressure to be “fixed”

Questions People Ask

How is psychoanalysis different from therapy?

It's deeper, slower, and focused on free association and deep listening rather than techniques or goals.

Do I have to lie on the couch?

No. Some do, some do not. What matters is what makes speaking easier for you.

How long does psychoanalysis take?

As long as the work is alive. Months for some, years for others.
