About
Dr. Shirin Rahgozar holds a Ph.D. in psychiatry and clinical psychology and is a psychology postdoctoral fellow with more than ten years of combined clinical, research, and teaching experience across Iran, Spain, and the United States. She brings a clinical background shaped by work across multiple cultural and healthcare contexts.
Her work focuses on adults dealing with trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and significant life changes, including when symptoms are shaped or influenced by displacement or the experience of living between languages and cultures. She regularly works with patients whose distress is connected to loss, instability, or prolonged exposure to uncertainty.
Dr. Rahgozar was born in Iran and provides therapy in English and Farsi. She works extensively with immigrant communities across Texas, and her approach attends closely to the psychological impact of cultural transition, family separation, meaning, and identity strain, especially when these intersect with anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, or obsessive thinking.
She provides individual therapy in person in Houston and via telehealth across Texas.
