Dr. Kristen Wheeler is a licensed psychologist with experience across inpatient, residential, forensic, and outpatient settings. Her work focuses on adults presenting with trauma, high levels of distress, emotional instability, and complex clinical histories that require careful assessment and containment.  

Dr. Wheeler has extensive experience working with men and older adults, including individuals who enter treatment later in life or who struggle to identify, articulate, or make sense of psychological distress. Additionally, she has a strong commitment to working with military veterans, first responders, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, and is well-versed in the clinical, cultural, and institutional contexts that shape their experiences.  

Her training in CBT and psychological assessment is particularly relevant for patients seeking diagnostic clarification, a practical understanding of their symptoms, or more structured support to guide treatment.  

Dr. Wheeler provides individual therapy in Houston and via telehealth across Texas. She is also PSYPACT authorized to provide telehealth services in several authorized states.
