About
Dr. Kimberly Smoots is a psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults, and the families navigating life alongside them. Her clinical background spans anxiety, depression, trauma, and neurodiverse presentations, including ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, and intellectual disabilities.
Her training in school psychology gives her a grounded understanding of how learning, behavior, and emotional life intersect, particularly within systems that were not always built with differences in mind.
Dr. Smoots is bi-ethnic, Mexican and Black American, and that experience shapes how she approaches her work. Her research background in racial equity and community care reflects a long-standing commitment to understanding the relational and social conditions that influence clinical work, including questions of identity and belonging.
She provides therapy in English and Spanish and sees patients in person in Houston and via telehealth across Texas.
