About

Dr. Emma Harrison holds a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and is a psychology postdoctoral fellow who provides individual therapy in English for adolescents and adults, in person in Houston and online across Texas. Her doctoral training emphasized work with diverse populations, and her clinical background spans community mental health, dual-diagnosis residential treatment, and school-based care.

She completed her predoctoral internship in Nebraska, working in the community on the Winnebago and Omaha reservations. That year required her to work in a setting where history, culture, and access to care are inseparable from the clinical picture, and it continues to shape how she listens to what a patient brings and to what surrounds it.

Her work focuses on anxiety, depression, and life transitions, including patients whose substance use has developed alongside those difficulties. In her training at a dual-diagnosis treatment center, she worked with adults and adolescents carrying several diagnoses at once, some of whom arrived at outpatient care after more intensive treatment.

Where a difficulty is long-standing rather than situational, Dr. Harrison's attention turns from managing it to what sustains it. That question shapes her practice. She is also trained in psychological and neuropsychological assessment, and at Real Talk that training is used to arrive at an accurate diagnostic picture within ongoing therapy.
